So...... I Was checking out everyones blog and they all did the whole "What they hope to do this year" thing. So I thought I would hop on the band wagon, plus posting it here gives me something to look back on (thanks Doom) so here it goes:
Goals for 2010
-Continue trying to be the best Dad and Husband I can.
-Try to get the shop and online store to where I want it to be.
-Ride mtb at least once week
-Ride moto more!
-Do a couple of motocross enduro races-
-Moab at least once!!! ( I was going 4-5 times a 2 years ago)
-Finish and ride the chopper through the summer
-ride bike more instead of drive
-Eat Better, exercise more, but that goes with a few other goals listed above.
-Camp more with both family and friends
-Work on the welding skills
-Continue to try to get the wed, night rides going out here.
-Blog more! and with better action packed entertainment!!!

So speaking of blogging, I did start up one for moto stuff, some stuff I will cross post, but other will be boring to some people so I will keep it on the other blog. FUBAR!!!!

My frame is still at the frame shop getting hardtailed so I am at some what of a stand still. I am how ever in the cold garage getting the wheels ready for some rattle can to get an idea on color before I commit to powdercoating.
I am pondering the thought of starting up a new blog just for motorcycle stuff?? Any thoughts on that? I would keep this one for biking and other shit that goes on.

And yes that was a question that is looking for an answer.

We bargined with a cabby and he ended up taking alison and I on a tour of the tulum ruins and in to town while he waited, the ruins were cool, the town was alright we ate at one of the local places pretty damn good. I was going to buy a luchidor? Mask for the kid but we ran out of pesos. The resort has been awsome good food, weak drinks and beach time. I see why MTV would also do spring break down here, who knows; maybe there will be a Luby's gone

In other news, most of you know that I sold a bunch of my bikes to start the shop, I am starting to get a few back, Thanks to Kenny Bloggins for getting me my rat ride so fast!! I still have my hodge podge rejected ML7 singled out....just wasn't the same

Now I have my rat ride... the same as a 1X1 built with 24" L margs. I have a set of dirt wheels ( off of maverick) for when I want to ride dirt and think I will throw a fork on since that is my business here is a pic of it, as Sov would say " not so much getting rad, but getting Dad"

I built it up last week and the shop has been crazy busy so not much time to work on my own stuff and spend time with Family, so I have been taking Layla for some rides!!

The shop has been really busy which is a good thing, I am working on a few side projects that are somewhat business related, Alison and I are getting hitched in July so that's been very time consuming, and Layla is getting big and super fun. well I just moved into boulder with the fm, it has been super crazy the last few weeks, starting up dirtlabs.com , wrenching, learning to machine kic ass stuff, move the family. Ali and Layla headed to MN this weekend, so I spent the day in the shop, then ended it with my first skate park sesion i over 2 years!!!!!!!!!!! I was by far the oldest and probebly the only dude with a kid, but I did get props fro the sparks I made on the grind box!!! anweay tomarro is som lift riding at sol vista, a buddy of mine has posted some good vids on his web zine littermag.com

DIRT LAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Spot Brand Bikes Bought Maverick!!!! All the inventory has moved over to the Spot HQ, I will not be making the move, I will be staying in the building where the lot is full of Dirt Jumps, and the building has a DH/DJ/Freeride shop and a Machine shop that is a design Studio and soon to be Suspension Pro Shop!!!!!!
I found out about the sale and the move so I really started thinking, I love where I work!!! so why not stay here. Start up my own Suspension shop. I spoke with the original Owners of Maverick and they are very supportive, this means alot since it is coming from the guy who Started Rock Shox and Maverick, and also the part owner of Maverick who is super Rad machinist. I worked out lease on a small part of the building with him, on one side of me will be "The Fix" Bike shop and on the other side will be Frank and Paul's new gig... a design studio for MTB and Moto products. So I will be doing set-up, overhauls, tuning, upgrades, and some frame linkage upgrades. With having FV and the machine shop so close it really pens up a lot of doors on things to do.

I leave tomorrow to head out to St. George UT for BIKE Magazine's bike week, I will be represent Dirt Lab!!! and have 4 days of killer riding with some amazing people. When I get back it is time to work work work and get the shop up and running.
We are working on website, one of my bros from www.mtnops.com are helping me with the website which is www.drtlab.com so lots of stuff to do...stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Layla's First Bike ride

in a trailer, behind a Surly running 42X16!!!

She is to small to fit in the trailer the way kids are supposed to, so I pulled a full on Macgyver and mounted her car seat into the trailer. It even had a roll bar just in case. Alison Followed on her sunflower cruiser as we headed into town.

After we ate lunch in Boulder it was time to head back, on the way back I even hit some DIRT!!.

This was both Alison and I's first time with her on a bike so it ws pretty fun except for the bigger hills we hit running that gearing.

City of Angels to Moab

well I finally built my 2 Mavericks for the year I will get pics up soon. I have an ML8 which is my Primary bike for everything!!! Then I decided to build up an '07 Durance that has mainly been my commuter/product tester. Riding in at 2 deg. really slows the rebound.
I was in Cali last week visiting a few Mags, all in all the trip was good. I hit up MBA, DECLINE and BIKE
I had a one of bastard bike we built, basically an ML8 with another inch of travel and no paint....we call it the "Naked 8" I was out there to meet the mag guys and check in with them, but I grabbed the naked 8 at the last minute. It should be around keep and eye out, were only making 10!!! The Decline guys were rad, basically 3 dudes my age trying to make a kick ass mag. From there I went to a Video Premiere thing of Earthed 5 that BIKE was throwing to benefit local trails. It was fun cool to see everyone, sounds like bike week this year is a go.
The nest day I headed to Crank Brothers cool place, we did some speedball tech shit. Then Headed to Garage Works....Delecruz has got it Down!!!! A Mechanics Dream... A full Wrench only Bus. I hung out with him and his beer fridge, and some crank wheels. The next day was a ride with Lou at Bike, the trail we rode was super busy but fun, and hour and half climb on flat pedals and a single 36 tooth ring up front burned me out......
My family was here this last weekend it was great to see them and show them Layla, she is getting big, and smart too.
This week I head to Moab on Wed. Hitting a few dealers on the way down, then we have a crew of 20+ riders for a moto weekend in Moab. I am hoping to do a Porc Rim Shuttle ride early thurs before Moto Chaos starts.

Well tis the season, to get fat and think about next bike season!!! hmmm moto or mountain?

Anyway I sold my old ML8 and am planning on building up a new ML8 over the next couple of weeks , hoping to build it up all nice like, ya know. I have never been one for the "bling factor" but when good companies help a Luby out why not. I also have a new Peacock Groove on the way to build. The frame is something out of the minds of me and Erik Noren...Black Sunshine!!!!! I am hoping to finish that before the ML8 but who knows. All this bike stuff started when a guy came to look at my old ML8, he saw it and liked it....but also was looking for a good dirtbike....I said" well this is for sale" pointing to my '96 XR250 moto, I gave him a pretty good package price and he cut me a check....6 hours later I am looking at a '01 XR400, bigger, faster, Newer....for the same price!!! yep, I have me a big boy bike now. It needs some small stuff like plastics, but man it has some snort!! Between this and my XS750 I have some work to do!!!! the street bike will maybe become a Cafe Racer........well making poarts store runs on my fixie!! don't worry I haven't lost touch with cycling. Check out the below My new XR400 and XS750 (needs alot of work)

yeah it gets really tough at times but thats life. Layla is really growing and she now smiles because she is happy and not just farting or pooping. Today Alison had plans so it was just Layla and I. Downieville

Well Downville was awsome, I think I only want to do one race a year and it would be the all mountian Downieville.

Me and Mike west showed up grabbed some bikes and caught a shuttle up to the start of the DH course and road it with a few of the other Maverick Crew. The Downhill was fucking Rad, it was much better riding it on a 6 in. travel bike, than on my single speed. It was great to be in Downieville again, first time I was there was for single speed worlds, that was a blast and a whole nother story. Anyway I set up our tent on the Main street and found out the product we needed for our tent didn't show up, so there I was, a tent with nothing but a demo bike in it. I looked over and saw the Beer sponsers setting up with out a tent, a light bulb turned on over my head, And I asked them if they wanted to share my tent. Well the Maverick booth turned into the maverick beer tent. It was fun a couple photos below, the river Jump was pretty wild, I was able to spend some time at the bar Sat. night with Blind Bobby, that guy is so fricking cool, racing while legally blind (if you want to know more, you have the net search him)

Wow alomost a month with out posting?? Sorry but it's been crazy, work has been ,well work. And it is getting close to the baby time, I had to move my bikes out of the bike room, and into the garage. that is when it really hit, but I am getting excited. In other Baby news, I had heard some bad news that some very close friends of Alison and I lost there baby, Best wishes to them, it is very hard to hear. And also (end with a happier note) Congrats To speedbuggy and his lady on there little girl. Cheers dude!!

I head out to Downieville tomarrow for the D-ville classic, I am not riding it but working, but I booked an early flight so Hopefully I can go for a ride once I get there....Haven't been there since SSWC and I was on a 1X1 with an 80mm fork, and now I will be on a full squish with a 150mm f & R if I get a ride in.

Anyway I will try to post more once I get back, hopefully things settle down and I am not so fucking tweaky stressed

Yes Moab was Fun. We had a few flat tires
At Camp on slick rock we had a very spure of the moment party...Al headed to bed, then a Few locals stopped bye that New Ariel and Abby, they brought friends, before we knew it we had 20 people and a shit load of fire works.

Anyway it was hard not to go ride our Mountain bikes, but all I had was my Moto. I had a shit load of fun, the last day I dumped my bike pretty hard but was able to ride it out.

Also, we finished a ride, and were getting ready to leave when some dude comes flying up in a truck and starts talking to us.."hey I'm going to base jump off of tombstone in 45 min. if you guys want to watch" so we figureed why not, we wairted and waited and then finally saw a little figure on the cliff, then he jumped.

Last weekend was frostbike at QBP in mnpls, I showed representing Maverick, I came with my game face, ready to wrestle and a bottle of tequila!. Anyway the show was fine same ole, same ole bike stuff. The coolest thing was seeing everyone. B rose had is own Australian, my pals from the old shop in cloud town had there own employees, and Hurlio had a beard. Anyway Sat night was pug races, I didn't race, but I sure did wrestle....lost my earing while wrestling with swervy. The next morning thought "what the hell, I better go look for it" so I went out to the cold icy snow covered lake, and looked around, found it with in a minute, damn I'm lucky.

First off check out the ring Al(our head engineer at Mav.) and I designed and made today, we found a chunk of Ti and wanted to see what we could come up with, Alison is wearing this in place of the O-ring for now.

Any way the Big News is that I am Cloning myself, using Alison's Belly!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes She is Pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!! a sweet surprise to both of us, but "Luby's derby Squad" is beginning. My child an Speed Buggy's kid will Dual. I am already thinking about a custom trike built by me. But all I can say is I am freaked out, I want to be HIP and Groovy to the kid. But I have a good icon to look up too, my DAD ; he taught me how to do do burn outs in the garage and ride a wheelie.

Sunday Morning

Well it is finally starting to warm up here. I went for a ride this morning up to Lee hell Rd. Started a t Mav HQ, for 2 reasons, one being that my 1X1 was there, and Two we have an espresso Machine there...

After doing some Brake work on my bike, I headed out. I started on the bike path and made my way through city streets I have never been on before and then finally hit Lee hell. As I started my way up my legs started to burn, a lot earlier than last time. So I smiled and thought to myself "what would Henry Rollins do" we all know the answer, I kept going, I made it up to the point I wanted to, even though it was slow going and I wanted to Vomit, I was happy!

I have tig welded steel in the Past when I went to frame building skool a few years ago. Big Country Fired up the welder at mav HQ, and let me weld a little. Yeah I need more Practice, but after getting the OK to use the welder, I found out it was out of argon.......Damn this sucks.....

Big Country said that he has a welder in his Garage, and we can use that. So We cut a couple of small pieces of Aluminium and headed out. I welded Aluminium for the first time. It was amazing at how much cleaner it is to weld than steel. Then we broke out the Mig Welder, that was cool, but I think I might Concentrate on Tigging. Anyway the Following photo makes a good Sat. Night.

I finally got my ass back in the saddle, I went for a ride today, still quite a bit of snow out here, so I made it a road ride. I had my choice between a Surly Cross Check geared 42X17 or a fixed out 1X1 with a Maverick and 2.5 sticky tire in the front, running 32X17..... I took the 1X1, I had no odea where I was going but I was having fun, yes I got passed my a few guys on road bikes, but I didn't care. Anyway I found my self at Lee HELL rd. it was steep, I went up it halfway and then turned around.( I usually don't go all the way on the firt date)

Another death....Biker + Car =Death
Got the News From CRC That a former Drummer of Social D was killed....while riding his bike an got hit by a car.....This sucks. Yes I have a huge place in my life that Social D has an impact on, but another biker/ Car fatality!! they all suck, no matter who the person is. Now for me, I have a bad taste in my mouth for drivers who run over bikers, but I also know that shit happens, and it is not always the drivers fault, but when it is the drivers fault...wether talking on cell phone (boulderite), or road rage (redneck), or drunk dumbass(St.Cloud Redneck, in blue blazer) ....FUCK YOU All I hope the worst for you!!!! I am a mellow, but sometimes violent person, but I prefer mono'E' Mono ...Not 4 dr sedan VS. Mono....anyway some venting has been done, just be safe out there( yep, Luby just said that)

Well the holidays came and left....Thank goodness, I am not much for holidays, I love seeing my Family and Friends, but Buh fuckin hum bug....I would prefer to see family and Friends minus the holiday stresses. Any way, I was able to see my nephew ride his bike (he just learned) he is going to be a ripper. It was great time spent with My family, I drove a tractor and shot a few guns........Seriously it is fun. in other news, Once my Lovely Girlfriend and I arrived from our 17 Hr drive home, it has been very busy. But I managed to go snowboarding at Copper..Wow the runs here can hurt sometimes!!!!! I went out tonight with a few people who are just getting into biking or are enthusiasts....we are going to start a wed. night ride!!!!!!!!!!! I am super excited because they are in it for a good time and don't have polluted bike indusrty minds. One thing I miss about Mnpls is the wed. nite rides. Cheers to that. Well I have a set of snowshoes on the way thanks to speedbuggy. Also I would like to give some cred to my Lady, she has been the best this last year, thankyou!!!!!!

The first photo is the ride I did Last Sat. On my ML8, it is a quick loop near home. The Second Photo is from the same ride I did on Sun. Same trail, different Bike, this time I did it on My 1X1 Fixed. The trail is fun with both a 6.5 inch travel bike and a fixie..... then spent the rest of both days with the lady......... good weekend
Went into the work week with a smile. Then on tues. Me, Al, Ariel and Abby went for a dirt bike ride at lunch. Really good time, still getting used to the moto.
tomorrow is turkey day. I will be going for a moto ride in the morning than stuffing my face in the afternoon. Then going for a Mountain bike ride Fri. Morn, then a big 50= mile moto ride on Sat.

Well lately, I have been feeling a little bummed out. Things haven't been going the way I have been hoping. But today I went out for lunch with someone who I have a great respect for, and they gave me some great compliments and great advice for the future. Basically what it came down to, is I should stay strong with what I want to do, because I am good at it (so this person said).
This meant a lot considering that I was thinking about giving up on what I have been working so hard at. I am glad that some one recognized the mentallity and ethic I have for certain things(thanks Mom and Dad). It also came from someone in which I see has the same ideals....NO B.S. .............
so it was a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you think some one is doing a good job and can go somewhere with it.....let them know.....something so little can go a long ways

Yep I sold the thugsly.......and a few other Bike parts and bought this

I went out for my first real off-road ride on Sat. My co-worker took me to one of the more difficult trails to ride. But it was fun, I only went down twice. Dirt-biking is a little bit more of a work out than I thoughtit would be, but then again tossing around a 250 lb bike should be a work out.

Don't worry I didn't retire from riding, I just needed a break here and there, so I am going to spend it on 2 wheels. (plus I filled the tank for $3)

.....in other news, Project ML mayham has come to a stand still with chain issues....stay tuned!!!

In other news I am going to go watch B.I.L. race cross on sun, and hopfully meet up with fey. Not sure if I will ride or not( I can only pedal standing up) I still have a "charlie horse" on my femur from the Dirt Jump fuck up.

went in early to work to ride our pump track, hit the jumps a little, then worked until lunch. Went out to rid e the pump track, thought I would hit the rythm section on the way to the pump track.....ate it hard, shattered smiths, broken helmet, and damage to the body and head again!!!!

Here are some Photo's of the last couple of Months. Some are of Camping on a few different weekends, some are of 24 Hours of Moab.
Speaking of Moab, here's how it went... We Showed up later friday night and got a hotel room Got up early went to race and set up, it rained the whole time and was very cold. The officials Stopped the race at 8PM because thetrail was flooded and fear of hypothermia. Ethan and I tried to help as many people as possible with tech issues, but just not enough Brake pads, one lady trying to win it solo on our bike said she had tech support, her tech support came to us for help. We fixed her bike, it made me feel good. I also worked on a certain Magazine Editors Fork, that was kinda nerve racking, but the guy is cool and a Dirt Bag (hint). My Lady Was with all in all a success but no riding this time!!!

Moab Again!!!!!!!

Well I head out to Moab tomarrow. the second time in 3 weeks. i am not sure if I am excited or not for it. I am driving our Van out there full of Demo bikes and am going to run some Demos at the 24 hours of Moab race. Hopefully I can sneak out of there early on sunday and sneak a ride in. Ethan ( Head Mav. Tech) and his Wife are going they both are going to race/ride it Solo. My Lady is also going, which should be fun. She is going to hang out with me at the tents. Maybe I can talk her into shuttleing me to the top of the trail I did a couple weeks ago (see post below). I am going there for work, but it should be fun. I spentthe whole day tuning and washing Demo bikes, can't argue with wrenching. PT showed up and we may put into production some all Black parts I had made up for my personal bike. All Black seems to be in style now.....although I have always tried to keep MY bikes Black (like my hair)
well hopefully I will post more and get some photos up when I get Back....

SHort and Sweet update:

Vegas Inter-Bike show was last week. We drove our big rig out to the show, Ariel and I were able to sneak a short ride in Fruita on the way out there. Then we did a good group ride with all the riders from My work, PT even was there. Then we headed into Vegas, did the whole show thing, It was awsome seeing everyone I haven't seen in a while. Then headed Home hit Moab on the way home, and there was a Turner Bike get together, luckily we were with there pro racer, who scored us some seats on a shuttle going to a trail above Porcupine Rim, and then Hooks up with Porcupine. Goup of about 35 riders. all in all it was pretty Rad. (especially for being in Moab for all of 16 hrs. total) here are a few photos:

Late Night ramblings

Well I can't sleep, and haven't been sleeping to well....a lot of change going on. I still feel so unfamiliar with Boulder, some days I love, other days I hate it. I think I am starting to miss MNPLS, but when I was there I was missing riding in the mountains......"The Grass is always greener" (quote FromDoom)oh well only time will tell.
Anyway I still haven't unpacked all my bike/shop/ parts inventory yet. I have a Croscheck frame sitting in the boxing just screaming to get out and ride some cross. I pulled most of the parts out of the boxes tonight and will hopefully be able to build it tomorrow. Single with moustache bars!!!!!!!!!
I finally put a chain back on my fixie, and rode it into work today. On the ride in I cranked the pocket jukebox (old school Metallica "ride the Lightning" ) and felt great so I rode hard. I passed a guy in full team gear on a Serotta....
I said "good morning"
He said " (nothing, but looked at me and then turned away)"
I said " well, fine then have a bad day" (with my charming smile on my face"
Then I took off....fucking snobby roadie...To good to say hi to Luby....

I caught up to another dude on a road bike in full Lycra...
"Good Morning" I said
"Morning, how's it going" he said
"Rad" I said
"cool" he said
" Have a good Day" I said
roadie # 2 was a nice guy....I won't derby him next time
speaking of derbies I through a Wed. Night ride last week... A little different then what I am used to but fun. W ederbied a lot, and I even ate a pickled egg at a Bar

As for the Job goes.... Still getting a feel for it. I feel like I am gambling with it. I could go no where with it... or The company could really take off and I will have my feet in the door when it happens. With it being a smaller Bike Company, I am busting my ass, and will hopefully see a reward......The Owner of the Company is kind of a legend, for starting up one of the biggest suspension comanies out there. He has been hanging around the shop lately and I have been able to talk to him more, he's pretty rad, likes to ride and design stuff, but hates being the spot light...I dig that
Any way this has to be one of my longest blogs...I should try to sleep, I have to rebuild the suspension on my bike for a ride tomorrow and an all day ride on Sun.

I rode this trail yesterday on an ML8 from work, I loved the trail, it started out all singltrack (mainly uphill, but not steep) then turned into an off road trail for the last half. All in all it was about a 3HR/17 mile ride. Considering the ride started in the rain, the rocks were very slick so I bounced around a lot. I loved the way the ML8 climbed for a 6 inch travel bike. I liked the trail so much I wanted to do it again on my 1X1. So I Custom tuned a SC32 Maverick to lower the ride height and travel to accommodate my Surly 1X1, and ate a burrito from Illegal Pete's while wrenching on the fork. I took it out this morning on the same trail and did it in less time than I did on the ML8!!! But conditions were dry today, and I didn't have to look at the map at all. The only thing that delayed my ride today, was the dudes that stopped at the trail head and asked me for directions, which upon small talk they found out I had experience in the Disc Brake world, then one guy went on to ask me to do some adjustments on his bike right then and there!!!!!!!!! I helped him out then finally hasd to say I have to get going. I went to put my bike shoes on and realized I forgot them!!!!!!!!! So I swapped pedals to platforms and took off with my Chuck Taylors on! I had such a blast riding old school, I am half tempted to do it full time. Anyway blah blah blah the ride was fucking rad.
On another note Roadies out here are rich ass-holes that don't like to say hi to the singlspeeder going by the opposite way, I said hi, got a dirty look, so I then proceeded to extend my middle finger.

Things are starting to feel more comfortable out here. I have been trying to ride as much as possible. The Elevation is still kicking my Ass!!!! But hopefully soon I will be up to speed.....one speed that is...

Last night I went for a night Ride with Andy our Intern Engeneer and Ariel Our Pro Racer. None of us had lights and figured the full moon would be fine, we left The Maverick HQ around 9:30 rode some ally's and shortcuts through/around Boulder. We ended up on some Trail Ariel Wanted to ride, but the Moon was blocked by some massive cloud cover, so he suggested we just go jump around Campus. We headed towards campus, started to find the typical Urban stuff rode it, had a good time got home late. I was pretty Sore today, I was riding My kona last night, I weighed it today and it was 37.5 Pounds......hence I am sore from throwing that thing around trying to keep up with Ariel and his ML8 (Same amount of travel & 10 lbs lighter)
My Lady will be out here in about a week, that will be nice. I thinks she's Hot

I survived a week out here in hippie land, and still have a job
Work is going good
I went up to Winter Park on Sunday with a guy from work and some other dude.
It was my first time riding a real ski Resort. All in all it was Rad, the altitude was a pain. We rode the lift up and did the downhill the whole day. It was a blast. I finally made use of my Kona. I had a few mechanicals, but nothing to big. The biggest casualty was my fork, which spit oil all over my bike after I over shot a landing. But Luckily I work in the suspension business and will soon be testing a fork for a certain company. I had a lot of fun and I think I will be going again soon.
Other than that not much going on with me out here. I am living with very little of my personal stuff and still somewhat homeless, but soon that will change once my lady friend moves out here.
Once I get settled I will write more posts that will be more exciting, like Aliens trying to take over Boulder, or me killing a grizzly Bear while eating and Buffalo Burger, or clash of the Hippies, and maybe even a love story.............Stay tuned!

I made it, the drive went pretty good. I have been riding out here the last 2 days, the elevation is kicking my ass and the sun is coloring me RED. So far I have done a couple of rides at Walker Ranch, the view is awesome, fast downhill and long climbs( on my 40 lb. KONA) I even did some mountain Uni at one trail. Other than that haven't done to much yet...More to come later

I am heading to Bolder Colorado. Alison and I decided a little while ago, that we would like to move out there. So I found a Job at Maverick and am hoping to Start on July 24th. Luckily I have some family out there who are uber rad and willing to let me stay with them until Alison comes out and we find a place.
So I will be initially heading out here with minimal stuff (4 bikes and a car load of clothes.

I woke up this morning to the chill of it being 36 outside, and I didn't want to get out of bed. But I had to, the reason being is it was the Day for the Teddy 10.

What: Teddy 10 (10 laps)

Why: This event will be the first in a 3-part series.
"THE MINNEAPOLIS GLUTTONS of DIRT" Series
One must Complete 2 of the 3 events to get a Limited edition "Gluttons of Dirt"patch

I left the house around 8:15 to ride over to the trails. It is only 7.5 miles to the trail head, but I was on my 1X1 and still trying to wake up. My body was feeling tired (probably from this) , and I wasn't even sure if this non-sanctioned, non-event was still going to happen due to the weather (wet and cold). I eventually made it to the trail head and met up with "Kid" and Chefdog. We were the only riders to show. Well we had 3, that's all we need. We started riding together then we slowly split up. The trail conditions were pretty slick, not to the point to where we were destroying the trails, but to the point at which you had to Moto the corners, and ride with caution. I hit the play button on the Ipod at about lap 4. Motorhead was first to start playing, I thought to myself "this is Knarly, I could go all day with good tunes"........The Ipod died in the middle of Lap 5.
Anyway all 3 of us did it in a decent time, altogether it was about 23 miles. It doesn't sound like much but when it is wet and cold, and muddy, it can take a lot out of a Luby.
I am proud to say that I rode to and from the non-event.
All in all, for a crappy day, I was able to do some great riding, with good company for part of it.

Did the Wed. nite ride last nite, didn't get home till 2 in the A.M. We rode over to Fort Snelling from lake Harriat and hit numorous allys on the way, once at Snelling we rode some trails along the river. Most of the trail was under water which in turn forced us to bushwack up uber steep, crazy slick hill sides. It was quite the adventure, that ended with us hiking Behind Minniahaha falls.

You may ask yourself, whatever does "3 and 3" mean. Well for starters I needed something for a title, second of all read on to find out why.
I have been riding pretty hard the last 3 days straight, mainly into work and back. Nothing to big but I am really feeling it. I slacked off for the last few weeks on the whole riding into work thing, so this week I forced myself to do it. It has been super busy at work , which in turn has been draining and making it difficult to want to ride. But the rides into work have been so amazing, it gives me time to relax and think about all kinds stuff like finacial issues, world politics, career politics, elephants, swimming pools,etc. It really helps me get relaxed before I get to work. Also I am working on shedding my gut, yep I have a gut. Some of you may not have noticed, that's only because I have been wearing baggy clothes. So I have been riding harder and faster than I normally do, and also tonight I rode home from work, then went and hit up some single track(a couple of laps at Lebonon). So tonight I am going to eat a whole frozen Pizza and chill like it's thanksgiving!!!

Now for the other 3
It has been just a little over 3 months of sobriety for me. It is something I am very proud of myself for doing. It has been so far one of the toughest things I have done for myself ever. It has been really tough to "stick with it" at times, but it has also been very easy at times too. So far my Life has seemed to get much simpler and I am enjoying being sober. The main reason I am bringing this up (and for the lame title) is to thank 2 very imortant people who have really been a big part of me doing this. One is a very special Lady, and the other is a very good friend and Mentor who has some weird respect for Goats. So This Blog is also a "thank-you " blog, and is dedicated to these 2 rad people. Thank you so much for all the help you have given me.

also I am not trying to preach the "no-drinking" thing, it is something I am doing for myself. In fact I think those of you out there who still drink should have a drink or three for Me.
